We’re thrilled to celebrate one of our youngest cellists, Avril, who has just been awarded a High Distinction in her First Grade AMEB Cello Exam - an incredible achievement at any age, and especially so early in a musical journey!

Avril has been learning with Cath for just one year, and in that time, she has shown remarkable musical growth. She has a finely tuned ear and an excellent sense of pitch, paired with a rare ability to listen deeply and take in feedback - then come back the following week having already put it into action.
One of Avril’s standout qualities is her versatility: she can already play a wide variety of styles, and she’s particularly skilled at fast, intricate sequences that challenge even more advanced players. Her playing combines precision, musicality, and an expressive energy that makes her a joy to listen to.
Huge congratulations to Avril for this well-deserved result! We can’t wait to see where her musical path takes her next.
