FAQs

Am I too old or too young?

We do recommend that kids be at least 4 years old to start, but after that we take all ages! Plenty of adults start later in life, or even continue on from where they left off in childhood.

When are lessons?

We have lessons Mondays to Fridays after school and evening, and Saturdays throughout the day. Specific slots depend on the instrument you’re learning, send us a message to discuss scheduling in detail.

How many people in a lesson?

It’s up to you! Most of our lessons are one to one as experience has shown us that this allows teachers to go at the individual pace of the student, not leaving anyone behind or making anyone wait.  With one to one attention, you will get the most out of your time.

However, many people like to start off with the comfort of a friend or sibling participating in the lesson too - we can accomodate this. If you’d like to learn with a buddy just ask us about pair lessons.

Can I / do I have exams?

It's completely up to you! We cater for those wanting to complete grades and those wanting to learn without exams.  Talk to us now to discuss your needs.

Can I reschedule my lesson?

Yes! All our students and parents have access to the student portal where they can view their lesson calendar, log practice hours, (plus much more) and change lesson scheduling, provided there is a minimum 12 hours notice given, and a suitable slot in their teacher's schedule is free.

We also offer "casual" lessons where you can opt to upgrade for even more flexibility, and fully cancel (ie. not be charged or reschedule) when you can't make your lesson and provide 12 hours notice via the portal.

Do you offer performance opportunities?

Yes! Music With Charlie runs student concerts, students will also be offered the chance to perform in eisteddfods, and other performances put on by local music teachers when available.
